To ensure smooth, dust-free application on the farm, the final powder must be easy to dose and safe to handle. Hosokawa Micron’s processing systems reduce airborne particles and improve bulk properties—minimising feed loss during silo dosing and lowering the risk of respiratory irritation in animals. The result: cleaner, more effective organic powder feed.
At the core of the process is Hosokawa’s Flexomix continuous mixer/agglomerator, combined with a fluid bed dryer for efficient, in-line drying. Calcinated seaweed and magnesium oxide are introduced via separate feeders, together with a spray-on binder. The system transforms dusty fines (as small as 5 µm) into free-flowing agglomerates (up to 200 µm), improving flowability and handling while significantly reducing dust. Once formed, the granules pass directly into the fluid bed dryer for consistent, continuous moisture removal.
The full mixing, agglomeration and drying line is easily optimised to prevent overload or underload. Recipes can easily be adjusted via the control system to fine-tune magnesium oxide or binder content. When production demands grow, scaling up is simple—just add a larger dryer to the line. Built-in safety features such as sensors and pressure regulators ensure secure, reliable operation at every stage.
