Hosokawa Micron B.V. has been developing powder processing equipment and systems for more than a century. From its origins as Nautamix in Haarlem to its present position within the international Hosokawa Micron Group, the company has continually combined process knowledge, engineering and practical innovation.
Hosokawa Micron B.V. was founded in Haarlem in 1923 by Johannes Ewardus Nauta under the name Nautamix. In 1939, Nauta introduced the first conical screw mixer, establishing the principle behind the Nauta® mixer that is still used in powder processing industries worldwide.
In 1982, Nautamix became part of the Japanese Hosokawa Micron Corporation. Machinefabriek Vrieco in Zelhem, ISEM in Doetinchem and Schugi in Lelystad subsequently became part of the company, bringing together complementary expertise in mixing, drying, agglomeration and solids handling.
Hosokawa Micron B.V. moved to its current premises in Doetinchem in 1993. From this location, we develop, manufacture and support powder processing equipment and complete systems for customers worldwide.
In 2023, Hosokawa Micron B.V. celebrated its 100th anniversary. This milestone reflected not only the company’s long history, but also its continued commitment to developing practical solutions for changing process requirements.
Over the decades, our technologies have evolved to meet increasingly demanding standards for product quality, process safety, hygiene, containment, energy efficiency and automation. Testing, process development and close cooperation with customers remain central to this approach.
Today, Hosokawa Micron B.V. combines local engineering and manufacturing capabilities with the international expertise of the Hosokawa Micron Group. Our specialists support customers from initial process development and laboratory trials to full-scale production systems and lifecycle services.
More than a century after the foundation of Nautamix, we continue to develop process technologies for the powder and bulk solids industries of tomorrow.
