Vrieco is a historical Hosokawa brand rooted in Dutch powder-processing engineering. The former Machinefabriek Vrieco specialised in mixing and conveying equipment for powdered products. The company grew out of J. W. de Vries’s forge in the 1930s. After the Second World War, contacts with local millers helped the business develop from a forge into a mechanical engineering workshop. The name Vrieco was derived from ‘De Vries Constructies’.
Vrieco expanded its activities in powder mixing and conveying and moved to Zelhem, the Netherlands, in 1964. The company was acquired by the Hosokawa Micron Group in 1983. Its engineering heritage subsequently became part of Hosokawa Micron B.V., which was established in 1987 through the merger of Vrieco, Nautamix and ISEM.
Today, Hosokawa Micron B.V. develops and supplies powder processing technologies and systems for mixing, drying, agglomeration and related solids handling operations.
