Create consistent, lump-free soup blends with visible ingredients—while saving time, energy and cleaning effort. Hosokawa Micron’s mixing technology handles even the most complex instant soup recipes in a single, hygienic system. From freeze-dried vegetables, vermicelli and croutons to starches, fats and seasonings, every component is mixed evenly, gently and without compromise.
Modern soup production demands more than taste. Flowability, solubility, dust control and visual appeal are essential—alongside the need to reduce labour, cleaning time and footprint. That’s why leading producers choose Hosokawa’s Vitomix: a dual-action mixer that replaces two separate systems, cuts downtime, and delivers reliable, repeatable results at every batch size.
Instant soup formulations typically require two distinct mixing steps:
High-shear blending of base powders with fats, oils, flavourings and starches
Gentle incorporation of fragile components such as leafy vegetables or croutons
Traditionally, this has required two separate mixers—first a ploughshare or paddle mixer with choppers for intensive blending, followed by a mixer like the Nauta® conical screw mixer for delicate, low-energy mixing. This setup takes up space, increases cleaning and handling time, and limits throughput.
The Vitomix ribbon screw blender by Hosokawa Micron combines both high- and low-shear functionality in one hygienic, energy-efficient system. This eliminates the need for intermediate storage and cleaning between process steps, reducing footprint and increasing productivity.
Two counter-rotating ribbon screws create a fluidised, uniform product flow. Integrated spray nozzles allow precise liquid injection—such as fats or flavour enhancers—directly onto the moving product bed, without forming agglomerates. No choppers are required, and delicate ingredients can be mixed in with minimal damage.
The Vitomix features a conical vessel with a large central outlet and optional ISEM ball segment valve (up to DN400) for full product discharge. A hinged inspection door ensures easy cleaning and maintenance. The system integrates easily into existing or new soup production lines—allowing for optimised plant layout, automation and throughput.
With its high yield, adjustable mixing intensity and flexible recipe handling, the Vitomix boosts both quality and efficiency—often increasing output by up to 40% while cutting energy use by 60%.
