The core of the Mini Cyclomix lab mixer is a compact benchtop unit with a diameter of 450 mm and a height of approximately 1 metre. It features a direct-drive servo motor, a built-in control panel, and a manually operated lifting mechanism that allows easy docking and undocking of the interchangeable product bowls.
The Mini Cyclomix combines both impact and shear forces to mix powders effectively. An agitator equipped with paddles and a knife blade rotates the product, generating centrifugal forces that move the powder upwards along the wall of the conical vessel. At the top of the cone, a specially designed dome redirects the particles downward through the centre of the vessel, creating a circulating flow pattern that is further enhanced by the agitator’s rotation.
Most of the mechanical energy is transferred by the paddles against the vessel wall, making full use of the cone’s surface area. This large contact area relative to the product volume makes the Mini Cyclomix more efficient than other high-shear blenders, enabling highly homogeneous mixing with minimal energy input.
